You moved into a house with a pre-existing security system
Sometimes when people close on a house, a modern security system is already in use. All the devices function well, are placed in the right places, and are ready to go. In this instance, you might discover that you have to call and set up a new contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to ensure there are no integration issues, and they could offer suggestions on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a quick appointment, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you add on.
The previous owners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a nominal set-up fee to make the process easier. If the owners are moving to an apartment or retirement community, transferring the security contract may be a condition of the sale.
You are looking to move and bring your home security components with you
You may need to bring along your existing home security components with you to a new house when you move. That’s fairly easy to do, as many components are portable. You can remove each component yourself or call a professional expert to come and take care of everything. Then our installers will set up the same features -- and any additions you need to make -- in the new house. The home security contract will remain the same.
